Minister’s plea to Devaswom Board

PATHANAMTHITTA: Minister for Cooperation and Devaswom G. Sudhakaran has said that the practice of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) depositing a major chunk of its money in private banks is not justifiable. The Minister was inaugurating the Murani branch of Mallappally Service Cooperative Bank near Mallappally on Sunday. He said other Devaswom Boards in the State had been making their major money transactions through cooperative banks. The TDB should deposit 45 per cent of its money in nationalised banks, 35 per cent in cooperative banks and 20 per cent in others.
