Say chaos prevails in education sector
‘Development works are at a standstill’
KASARAGOD: The Muslim Youth League (MYL) has demanded that Education Minister M.A. Baby resign from his post following his failure to ensure smooth functioning of the education sector.
At a press conference here, MYL State president K.M. Shaji and general secretary N. Shamsuddin said a chaotic situation prevailed in the education sector after the Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government had come to power. Students had not received textbooks months after schools opened, they said.
Education in professional self-financing colleges was in a limbo and the private college lobby in the neighbouring states was benefiting from the situation, the MYL leaders said.
They said the State administration had totally failed. Development works were at a standstill.
Internal problems within the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) were affecting day-to-day administration.
Corruption charges
The allegations of corruption against leaders of the CPI(M) and its feeder organisations were unprecedented.
