PATHANAMTHITTA: Kerala High Court Judge T.R. Ramachandran Nair has called upon lawyers to take necessary initiatives to protect the rich legal traditions of the State in the prevailing globalised set up.

He was delivering the seventh N. Govindan Nair memorial lecture organised by the Pathanamthitta Bar Association here on Saturday. He said shortage of skilled legal professionals was a problem facing the judicial system in the country as the cream among the professionals were recruited by various multinational companies and other corporate giants, offering them lucrative pay packets. District and Sessions Judge E. Mytheenkunju delivered the keynote address. Bar Association president Thomas Mathew Edathil presided.
