KSU workers attacked

KANNUR: Four activists of the Kerala Students Union (KSU) were injured in an attack allegedly by Students Federation of India (SFI) workers at S.E.S. College, Sreekantapuram, on Monday. They were identified as Shinto Luka, Sushil Kumar, Joji Augustine and Sharafuddin. The injured were admitted to the Taluk Government Hospital at Taliparamba.

The KSU alleged that SFI activists attacked its workers who were observing a fast on the campus in protest against the attack on KSU workers during the inauguration of the new college union on November 16.

In another incident, three KSU workers were allegedly manhandled by SFI activists on the S.N. College campus in the afternoon. First-year degree students Shamees, Nitheesh and Prasoon took refuge in the Principal’s room after they were attacked, KSU district president Rigil Makutty said. S.N. College Principal P.C. Salim said three KSU workers had complained that they were attacked by SFI workers. He said he had also received another complaint from three SFI workers that they were manhandled by the KSU workers.
