Jewellery, cash stolen from house

Kasaragod: Thieves ransacked a house in broad daylight and decamped with gold jewellery estimated at Rs.3.6 lakh and Rs.1.5 lakh in cash at Thalangara here on Sunday, the police said.

The thieves forced their entry into the house of T.A. Sudheer, who works in a Gulf country, after his mother and maid servant left in the morning to visit a relative in nearby Uduma.

The thieves who broke open the rear door escaped with the cash and jewellery kept on a bedroom shelf when the watchman had gone for lunch, the police said.

Police and fingerprint experts reached the spot for preliminary examination. — PTI
