Inter-school music festival conducted

The students of Rajagiri Public School, Kalamassery, were the overall champions and Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Girinagar, the runners-up at the inter-school music festival ‘Geet Lehar–2010,' hosted by the Gregorian Public School, Maradu. Cine actor Jyothirmayi inaugurated the fete in which 19 schools from Kochi participated.

In the group event ‘Gandharvageetham,' Malayalam film duets sung by K.J. Yesudas were presented. The solo events included ‘Purani Nagme' – old popular songs, and a karaoke of Western numbers.

Merit evening held

A merit evening organised by the Sahodaya School complex was held at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan auditorium, Kochi. In his inaugural address, Venugopal C. Govind, chartered accountant, said that teachers and parents must ensure that children are self-confident and become well-balanced professionals.



Education fete



Twenty-two high school and higher secondary school students were selected from Ernakulam district to participate in a State-level examination organised by the Santhigiri Research Foundation.

They qualified for the event based on a written examination organised here by the foundation in association with UNESCO and The Energy and Resources Institute. Fifty finalists selected from the State-level examination will participate in an international conference to be held in September.
