PATHANAMTHITTA: With a day left for its culmination, the flower show, ‘Pushpotsav-2010,’ organised by the Agri-Horticulture Society here drew crowds on Monday.

Competitions in different categories, including vegetable carving, flower and fruit arrangements, house gardens, institutional gardens, vegetable gardens, potted plants, ornamental plants, and cacti and succulent collection, were held during the past two days.

In the afternoon, Thiruvalla Metropolitan Archbishop Thomas Mar Coorilos inaugurated a public meeting held in connection with the flower show. District Collector S. Lalithambika distributed the prizes to the winners of the competitions.

M.P. Gopalakrishnan, society office-bearer, presided over the meeting and organising committee conveners K. Prakhasbabu and Baby Mulamoottil spoke. District Superintendent of Police K. Sanjaykumar will inaugurate the valedictory function on Tuesday.
