Kozhikode: Calicut University Vice-Chancellor Anwar Jahan Zuberi has said that results of the first year MBBS examinations will be published after January 10.

The University Board of Studies (Medicine) will be meeting on January 10. The results of the final year Part I and second year MBBS examinations will be published before January 25.

The Vice-Chancellor said that the results of examinations, supplementary examinations and re-evaluation of B.Pharm and BSc Nursing courses would be published before January 30.

The decision to publish the results was announced by the Vice-Chancellor during talks with office-bearers of the Calicut Medical College Union after the union blockaded the university on Monday.

The blockade was in protest against the delay in publishing results of the MBBS, BSc (Nursing) and B.Pharm courses. Saidalavi T, union chairman, Rafeez, B.Pharm students’ representative, and Latheef, BSc Nursing students’ representative, attended the talks.

The second year MBBS classes could not begin for more than two months due to delay in publishing results of the first year examinations.

The results of examinations of third and fourth year MBBS course had not been published even three months after the conduct of the examinations.

The university failed to conduct examinations of the BSc (Nursing) second and third year courses though the classes ended in August and September. Same is the case of first year B.Pharm course.

Even after four months of holding the first year B.Pharm supplementary examinations, the result had not been published.

The college union alleged that the M.Sc (Nursing) students were denied one week study leave as prescribed in the syllabus.
