Call to intensify struggle against capitalist forces

Struggles of the people against capitalist forces should be strengthened, said Manik Mukherjee, Politburo member of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist).

He was addressing a meeting here on Thursday organised by the SUCI (Communist) in memory of its founder general secretary Shibdas Ghosh on his 34th death anniversary.

Shibdas Gosh was the Marxist thinker of this era, Mr. Mukherjee said. “Mr. Ghosh formed the SUCI when the Communist party failed to represent the aspirations of the working class. He stressed that a genuine Communist party should function on two pillars—democratic centralism and collective leadership,” Mr. Mukherjee said.

He alleged that the Communist parties betrayed its followers and supported bourgeoisies to gain power. SUCI State secretary C.K. Lukose presided over the function.
