CPI(M) stand justified: Menon

Thiruvananthapuram: The ordering of reinvestigation in the case of three persons including the former Electricity Minister G. Karthikeyan in the SNC-Lavalin case justifies the CPI(M)’s stand that the case is politically motivated, according to State secretariat member of the party T. Sivadasa Menon.

He said in a statement here on Tuesday that the agreement with Lavalin was reached when Mr. Karthikeyan was Minister. The LDF government had made some change in it in the interests of the State. It was clear right from the beginning that political intervention was behind the exclusion of Mr. Karthikeyan from the list of accused.

Political motive was behind the exclusion of Mr. Karthikeyan and the inclusion of Pinarayi Vijayan in the list of accused by the CBI. It was this political conspiracy which was now as clear as daylight, he said.
