Bavaria seeks investment from Indian companies

KOCHI: Kerala is a small world of big opportunities, said Opposition leader Oommen Chandy. Addressing a seminar on business opportunities for Indian companies in Bavaria, Germany, he said there was a new era of growth for companies operating in Kerala.

India has become one of the exciting emerging markets of the world. The country is an export hub and production centre. The fundamentals of India remained strong and there existed immense scope for trade between India and Germany, he said.

Horst Pfeifer, Deputy Consul General, Federal Republic of Germany, said bilateral trade had doubled in the past three years. Bavaria, the largest federal State of Germany, is located in the heart of European Economic Area. It has established itself as the node between East and West.

Bavaria offers opportunities for investment in a variety of sectors such as electronics, information technology, aerospace and biotechnology. Britta Peterson-Barnhusen and Quintus Bartscherer, officials from Bavaria, spoke.
