KOLLAM: The former principal of Kalamandalam and Mohiniyattam exponent Kalamandalam Sathyabhama has been selected for the maiden Swathi Thirunaal Puraskaram instituted by the Kollam Kathakali Club and Troupe.
Baby to present award
This was announced at a press conference here on Thursday by vice-president of the club K.N. Thrivikraman Pillai and general secretary Thonnakkal Peethambaran.
The puraskaram will be presented to the artiste by Minister for Culture M.A. Baby at a function to be held here on August 20.
The function, to be presided over by club president K. Raveendranathan Nair, will be addressed by Mayor N. Padmalochanan, district panchayat president K. Devaki and Deputy Mayor Veliyom Rajan.
