Arya Vaidya Sala Founder’s Day fete

MALAPPURAM: Vaidyaratnam P.S. Varier’s Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal, will celebrate its Founder’s Day with a variety of programmes on Friday.

The film actor Madhu will inaugurate the festivities at a function to be held in the courtyard of Kailasa Mandiram, headquarters of the Arya Vaidya Sala.

Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University Vice-Chancellor K.G. Poulose will preside over the function.

P.V. Ramachandran, professor of radiology, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, will deliver the P.S. Varier memorial lecture on ‘medical technology and society.’ S.K. Vasanthan, Sanskrit scholar, will speak on ‘P.S. Varier’s contributions to Kerala art.’

Awards of excellence

Awards of excellence to Ayurveda students, including Centenary Award 2008 and A.V.S. Chandramani Anjaria Scholarship, will be given away on the occasion.

Cultural festival

The employees of the Arya Vaidya Sala and their families will display their artistic talents at a cultural festival to be held on Saturday evening. The playback singer V.T. Murali and team will present ‘Mohanamai,’ a music programme.
