Vice-Chancellors condemn action

KOCHI: Vice-Chancellors of Kerala University, Cusat, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit and Kannur Univeristy have deplored the agitation by a section of students near the Mahatma Gandhi University and the residence of its Vice-Chancellor Jancy James that led to her hospitalisation.

'Take action against Pinarayi'

KOCHI: Action should be taken against CPM State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan, from whose bag bullets were recovered at the Chennai airport, K.V. Thomas, MLA, has demanded. Youth drowned

KOCHI: A teenager drowned in the Periyar on Friday evening, just as the Sivarathri festivities came to an end. The police said that Bejoy (17), a Plus Two student of Government Boys High School, Aluva, and son of Dominic Puthussery, had gone to bathe in the river, along with a friend. None saw him drown as the two were bathing a distance away from the others. Bejoy's body was retrieved by 8 p.m. Staff Reporter
