15 Malayalam films to be screened

THRISSUR, NOV. 29. Fifteen Malayalam films will be screened in theatres around the city from November 30 to December 9 as part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of Malayalam cinema.

The screenings have been arranged by the Thrissur Drisyakala-Sravyakala Film Development Cooperative Society set up to promote films, drama, dance, music and folk arts. The celebrations have been arranged in collaboration with the Information and Public Relations Department.

Addressing a press conference here today, the Thrissur Mayor, K.

Radhakrishnan, who is also organising committee chairman of the celebrations, said `Newspaper Boy', `Aswathamavu', `Chidambaram', `Perunthachan', `Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha', `Manichithrathazhu', `Chemmeen', `Panitheerathaveedu' and `Bharatham' are among the films to be screened.

Screening will be held at the theatres Mundathikkode Nature, Kalathode Drisya, Viyyur Deepa, Anapapra Ukkans and Mannuthy Jaya. Seminars, discussions and exhibitions of still photographs related to films have also been arranged.

The concluding programme will be held at the Regional Theatre in the city on December 25.
