Public Works Minister H.D. Revanna said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on the JD(S) being the B-team of the BJP had helped the BJP’s number in the Assembly go past 100. “Because of his comments, you (BJP) won 30 more seats. Otherwise, you would have been restricted to 70. We have lost 30 seats,” he said. However, BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai differed with the interpretation. He said the JD(S) won 37 seats because of Mr. Gandhi’s remarks that helped in consolidation of votes.
