`Water quality good'

BANGALORE Oct. 22. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), which is monitoring the water quality in all the gastroenteritis-prone areas in the city, has found the chlorine level to be satisfactory.

According to a BWSSB press release, over 150 water samples had been collected from consumer points in gastroenteritis-prone areas such as Binnamangala, D.J. Halli, Wilson Garden, Byappanahalli, city market, Shivajinagar, Anandapura, and surrounding areas from October 1 to 16.

Water samples were also collected from slums in Srirampura, J.J. Nagar, Koramangala, Coles Park, Johnson Market, and K.G. Tower.

"The residual chlorine level in the samples varies between 0.1 and 0.4 ppm. which is very satisfactory and the quality of water is good," the release added.
