Three persons murdered in separate incidents in city

BANGALORE: Three persons were murdered in separate incidents in the city on Thursday.

The police said that around 8.30 p.m. a five-member gang attacked Manjunath alias "Silencer" Manja (28), a mechanic, with swords and choppers at his garage in Manjunathnagar in Basaveshwaranagar police station limits.

A seriously injured Manjunath died at a private hospital around 11.30 p.m. He was a resident of 2nd Block, Rajajinagar. Rivalry is said to be the motive behind the murder. The Basaveshwaranagar police have registered a case.

In another incident, Sarvana (28), a resident of Bakshi Garden, was hacked to death by four persons in Cottonpet police station limits. The police said that on Thursday evening Sarvana assaulted his neighbour Susheelamma following a petty quarrel. Around 11.30 p.m. Susheelamma's son Raghavendra and his three accomplices confronted Sarvana near Bakshi Garden and attacked him with swords.

An injured Sarvana escaped. Later, the police found him lying unconscious near Anandapura slum on Mysore Road and they rushed him to Victoria Hospital. He was declared brought dead, the police said.

The Cottonpet police have registered a case.

Sunil (40), a resident of K.R. Puram, was found murdered on the railway tracks between K.R. Puram and Whitefield, off Cauverynagar, on Friday morning.

The assailants had stabbed him on the face, neck and in the chest. The police suspect that after murdering Sunil somewhere else on Thursday night, the killers had thrown his body on the tracks.

Two killed

Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in the city on Friday. Nagaraj (25), a resident of Yeshwanthpur, died when a goods vehicle hit his motorcycle on Seshadri Road, off K.R. Circle, around 10 a.m.

Nagaraj, who worked as an accountant in a private company on BTS Road, was on his way to work when the accident occurred, the police said. The Ulsoor Gate traffic police have registered a case.

In the other incident, Anand (24) was killed when a goods vehicle dashed against the bicycle on which he was riding pillion on Bannerghatta Road. The accident occurred around 7.45 a.m. near dairy circle, the police said.

Anand, a mechanic, was a resident of Siddapura. Eshwar (25), a milkman, who was riding the bicycle, was seriously injured. He has been admitted in NIMHANS. The Adugodi traffic police have registered a case.

Woman robbed

A youth snatched a mobile phone worth Rs. 16,000 from a housewife in Malleswaram police station limits on Thursday.

The police said that around 7.30 p.m. Roopa, a resident of Kurubarahalli, and her mother were walking on 6th Cross, Sampige Road when a youth snatched Roopa's mobile phone and pushed her. Roopa, who fell on the pavement, suffered minor injuries.
