SUCI protests against bad roads

BIJAPUR, OCT. 7. Members of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI) protested against the poor condition of roads and erratic water supply in the city today.

They staged a demonstration in front of the municipal office here. Addressing the gathering the district unit convenor, B. Bagwan Reddy, said that the roads in the city were in a pathetic condition.

The roads were full of potholes causing hardship to motorists, he added.

He condemned the erratic water supply in the city.

The municipality was unable to supply water even once a week owing to bad management, he charged.

The protesters handed over a memorandum to the Municipal Commissioner, C.K. Dashwanth.

They also warned that their agitation would be intensified if the roads were not repaired within two weeks.
