KANNUR: Cases of torture of women in families should be seriously considered to put an end to it, according to Kerala State Women's Commission member P. Kulsu.

Evaluating the cases taken up for the commission's sitting here on Monday, Ms. Kulsu said in many cases of torture of women in families, women were found culprits. This was a serious matter that had to be addressed by organisations of women and activists, she said.

Ms. Kulsu said that the commission would organise a reception for the newly elected women members in local bodies in the district in January. The commission was also planning to involve KILA to train them, she said.
