Scholars, theatre persons to attend



Shambhu Hegde will inaugurate the seminar Shiv Vishwanath will deliver keynote address



Udupi: A national seminar on "K.V. Subbanna and Contemporary Kannada Culture" will be held here on January 26 under the auspices of the Rathabeedi Geleyaru, Karnataka Sahitya Academy and Regional Resources Centre for Folk Performing Arts.

Rathabeedi Geleyaru president K.S. Kedlaya told presspersons here on Saturday that Janapada and Yakshagana Academy president Keremane Shambhu Hegde will inaugurate the seminar.

Scholar Shiv Vishwanath from the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Technology, Ahmedabad, will deliver the keynote address on "The ideal village as envisioned by K.V. Subbanna".

The other topics for the seminar are "Theatre experiments by K.V. Subbanna", "K.V. Subbanna and film culture", "Subbanna's alternative cultural thinking", and "Subbanna's political thoughts".

Scholars Jayaprakash Mavinakuli, T.P. Ashok, Sureshacharya, Raghunandan, Rajendra Channi, Lakshmish Tolpady, Pattabhirama Somayaji, M.S. Ashadevi, S. Malati, G. Rajashekhar, Rajaram Tolpady and Sadananda will participate in these seminars.
