Respond to children's needs, mothers told

Special Correspondent

SHIMOGA: K.S. Pavithra, psychiatrist, said here on Saturday that mothers should respond positively to the hopes and aspirations of children as the lack of their response to them is likely to create an adverse impact on their minds.

Speaking at the Mothers' Day celebrations organised by the Aurobindo School, she said it is natural for children to be inquisitive about things around them. "If mothers do not answer queries of children satisfactorily and curb them it will kill their creativity," she said.

Dr. Pavithra appealed to mothers to help their children develop the spirit of competition in such a way that did not result in the rivalry.

Vasundhara asked mothers to enjoy motherhood by accepting the problems as challenges.
