Architect from Jaipur tasked with drawing up blueprints for project in Hassan

The State government has taken up a project to beautify the premises of the Hemavathi reservoir at Gorur, the Yagachi reservoir at Belur, and the Channapatna tank on the outskirts of Hassan. A meeting of senior officials of the Department of Water Resources and Hassan district administration was held on the matter on Friday.

K. Jaiprakash, Secretary of Water Resources, said an architect from Jaipur, Anoop Bartaria, has been asked to draw up blueprints for the project. They are expected to be ready in a month. Mr. Bartaria was present in the meeting.

Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri said the district is known the world over for historically significant places. If the premises of reservoirs are developed and converted into tourist attractions, hundreds of people will visit the district, she said, adding that the district would require technical support from Visvesvaraya Jala Nigam Ltd.

Soon after the meeting, the officials visited the Channapatna tank.
