Probe sought into death of blind boy

MYSORE: Members of the State Action Committee of the Blind took out a procession in the city on Monday seeking a judicial probe into the death of Lokesh Raje Urs, a visually challenged student at the Government Blind School here.

N.K. Shivalingaiah, the committee president, led the rally. The members of the committee took out a procession from the Blind School at Bamboo Bazaar. More than 80 members from different parts of the district who had gathered to protest the death of Lokesh participated.

They said that Lokesh was a skilled and talented boy who often questioned the injustice meted out to students at the hostel. The protesters demanded that compensation of Rs. 5 lakhs be paid to Lokesh's family and a committee be set up to probe the death.
