He is quite open and clear about the way the role has to be played: Jackie Shroff

BANGALORE: "Uncle, you play the role of the Chief Minister." This was what the 10-year-old director, Kishan, said to Jackie Shroff, actor, as he was enacting a scene for the film, c/o Footpath. Even as Mr. Shroff was signing some important documents, the young director was guiding him, "Go slow... read them carefully and sign."

Shroff amazed

The director's words amazed Mr. Shroff.

"This child, though mild in communication, wants perfection in the role I am playing. He is quite open and clear about the way the role has to be played," he said.

Mr. Shroff narrated several such instances during his interaction with presspersons here on Sunday.

"He was clear in his thought. His narration about the need to educate those on the footpath touched my heart and this made me agree to play the role," he said.

Communication

Mr. Shroff said he did not face any problem while communicating with the young director.

"He is far ahead of me in his ideas," he said.

Acting only in his second Kannada film, Mr. Shroff has memories of his good time in Bangalore. "I have visited Rice Bowl on Brigade Road a few times. I have passed through this city on my way to Ooty and Mysore," he said.

Kishan said there are few more scenes of Mr. Shroff and actor Tara to be filmed. His film will be released in April. Shooting has not affected his studies, he said.

Earlier, the President of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, H.D. Gangaraju, felicitated Mr. Shroff and Kishan.

Ms. Tara and her co-actor in Kishan's film, Sa. Ra. Govindu, spoke about the support Kishen received from his parents, H.R. Srikanth and Shylaja Srikanth.
