Nigerian youth wins laddoo-eating contest

Seventeen-year-old Nigerian and footballer Akin A. Emmanuel won a loud applause from the audience as he gobbled down one laddoo after another to win a laddoo-eating competition held here recently. The footballer polished off 1 kg (10 pieces) of laddoos in 5.32 minutes.

To add to the festive fever and celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in a unique way, laddoo-eating competition was organised. Nine participants took part in the event and attempted to gobble up laddoos to earn the title of World Eating Champion, held in association with the World League of Competitive Eating.

Abhishek M.B. managed to eat a kg of laddoos in 10 minutes and earned the first runner-up title. Missing the first runner-up title by just two seconds was Kishore Rao, a professional American footballer, who got the second runner-up title.



The winner got a cash prize of Rs 10,000. The first runner-up and second runner-up received Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 2,500 in cash respectively.
