President Pranab Mukherjee will do the honours

It's official! President Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the Green Line on June 17. Launch of commercial operations on Reach 4, 4A and the underground section will take place on June 18.

The Green Line will connect Nagasandra in north Bengaluru with Yelachanahalli in the south. The entire journey is expected to take 45 minutes.

Initially, there will be a train every 6 minutes, a BMRCL official said. Sources said that the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety has given the safety clearance; the official documents are expected to reach BMRCL this week.
