Many organisations pay tribute to Ambedkar on 50th death anniversary

Members of various Dalit organisations participated in the programmes

HUBLI: Members of several organisations paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the twin cities on Wednesday to commemorate his 50th death anniversary.

Statues of Ambedkar were decorated with flowers at various places in the twin cities. Representatives of a number of organisations garlanded his statue.

Members of various Dalit organisations, employees' associations and political leaders belonging to various parties took part in the programmes organised to pay tribute to the leader.

Employees of the Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, including Commissioner P. Manivannan, took part in the programme organised near the Ambedkar statue adjacent to the Hubli Head Post Office.

Some organisations also took out a procession to mark the occasion.
