Man cheats bank of Rs. 4.98 lakh

MANGALORE, NOV. 29. A case of a person cheating the PVS branch of Canara Bank here of Rs. 4.98 lakh has been reported. According to a complaint lodged by the senior manager of the branch, M. Sudhakar, with the Mangalore North police, the accused, Aneesh Kumar, produced a fake demand draft for the amount drawn on SBI on Friday.

However, the bank authorities on Monday came to know that Aneesh had reportedly encashed the demand draft at Tirumalgherry branch in Hyderabad. Mr. Sudhakar lodged a complaint with the police
