‘Training needed for effective management’

SHIMOGA: President of Karnataka Rajya Souharda Samyukta Sahakari Niyamita Vishwanath Hiremath said here on Tuesday that there was a need for providing training for effective and transparent management of organisations in the cooperative sector.

He was speaking after inaugurating a one-day training camp on “efficiency development” for presidents and chief executive officers of various cooperative organisations organised by the niyamita, Bangalore.

Mr. Hiremath said that provisions of the new Karnataka Souharda Sahakari Act would ensure that cooperative societies performed without any hindrance or constraint.

He said training camps would give a fillip to representatives of cooperative societies to show their efficiency more effectively.

President of the Shimoga District Cooperative Central Bank R.M. Manjunath Gowda presided over the programme.

Vice-president of the niyamita S.R. Satishchandra, Sub-Registrar of Cooperative Societies of Shimoga C.N. Devaraj, director of the organisation U.H. Ramappa, State unit president of Sahakara Bharati, Karnataka, Narasimha Nayak and president of District Cooperative Union Umblebylu Mohan were present.
