‘Reintroduce facility to encash leave’

Davangere: The Karnataka State Government Employees’ Sangha condemned the suspension of leave encashment facility by the Government with effect from December 29, 2008. The sangha demanded the Government to withdraw the suspension and reintroduce the facility.

Sangha president Ujjanappa told presspersons here on Saturday that the Government had withdrawn the facility without citing any “valid reason”.

Instead of providing more facilities to government employees, the Government had was withdrawing facilities, he added.

The Central Government had revised HRA (House Rent allowance) and CCA (City Compensatory allowance) for Bangalore from October 2007. The State Government must revise HRA and CCA, the sangha said.

Computer skills should not be made mandatory to employees, particularly for those who are above 50 years of age.

The sangha announced that foundation stone would be laid for construction of a guest house and a commercial complex worth Rs. 55 lakh in Davangere on January 25.
