BIDAR: MLC and State unit general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Shashil Namoshi has said that the former Chief Minister S. Bangarapa, whom the Samajawadi Party has pitted against B.S. Yeddyurappa in the Shikaripur Assembly Constituency, has been a “sacrificial goat.”

He said at a press conference here on Thursday that both the Janata Dal (Secular) and the Congress had reached an understanding in order to defeat the former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa.

Their plan against Mr. Yeddyurappa would not work in the elections, he said.

Differences among party workers in the Aurad Assembly Constituency had been resolved.

They were working for the success of party nominee Prabhu Chavan, Mr. Namoshi said.

It may be recalled here that differences between two factions had sparked trouble at a meeting of party workers. District unit president of the party Baburao Madkatti was pulled up by the party workers.

Earlier, national secretary of the party Satish inaugurated the party’s media centre.
