MANGALORE: P. Jayarama Bhat, chief general manager, Karnataka Bank, has stressed on the need for the bank to focus on distribution of life insurance products to enhance the “other income” of the bank. Presiding over the life insurance business review meet, on performance in life insurance business handled by the bank during 2006-07, Mr. Bhat urged insurance officers to canvass for at least one application a day in every branch.

The meeting discussed the performance during the first four months up to July 2007 and strategies for achieving the projected business in the ensuing months of current fiscal.
