‘Continue carry over system’

Staff Correspondent

Gulbarga: Activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) took out a procession here on Saturday seeking carry over system for polytechnic students.

They marched from Vallabh Bhai Patel Chowk to the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

They shouted slogans against the Government and submitted a memorandum to the officials at the deputy Commissioner’s office.

In the memorandum, they said that the Government was “playing with the future of students by introducing retrograde policies”.

They said all these years, students who had not passed the fourth semester, were allowed to appear for the fifth semester examination.

But this year, the Board of Technical Education passed an order saying such carry over system would be stopped.

This not only affected the performance of fourth semester students, but also lowered the morale of juniors, they said. ABVP city unit secretary Santhosh Chinchpur and Sharanagouda Patil led the activists.
