Land records to have holograms

BIDAR, JUNE 1. Computerised Records of Tenancy and Cultivation (RTCs) will now come with holograms, a stamp of authenticity that will avoid attempts at forgery or faking.

This follows a policy decision taken by the Government after some fake Records of Tenancy and Cultivation were found in circulation in some districts.

In Hassan and Bagalkot, some had succeeded in obtaining photocopies of forged Records of Tenancy and Cultivation and had claimed them to be original records, a senior government officer said.

Henceforth, only Records of Tenancy and Cultivation stamped with holograms will be valid for all transactions, according to a release from tahshildar's office.

A little over two years ago, the Government banned the use of handwritten, carbon-copied or photocopied land records, before introducing computerised ones, the release has said.
