Health check-up camp for backward class people

HUBLI: More than 300 people underwent health check-up at the comprehensive health check-up camp for backward class people organised by the Canara Bank, Vidyanagar Branch here on Saturday, as part of the centenary celebrations of the bank.

A blood donation camp has also been organised on the occasion as part of the birth anniversary of the bank's founder Subbarao Pai.

P. Manivannan, Commissioner, Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation, and P.V. Joshi, Senior Manager, Regional Office, jointly inaugurated the camp. Mr. Manivannan lauded the social service programmes being undertaken by the bank.

Mr. Joshi recalled the objectives that the founders of the bank had while establishing the bank. M.R. Raikar, Nitali, Shastrimath, Hanumanth Harivan, Yadawad and others were present. K. Babu, Manager, proposed a vote of thanks.

The Red Cross Society, Hubli Unit, Chitaguppi Hospital, Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation and M.R. Diagnostic Lab had joined hands with the bank in organising the health programme held at Ramalingeshwar Nagar.
