Govt. urged to ban private tuitions

CHITRADURGA, JULY 24. The Kannada Vidyarthi Parishat, Chitradurga, on Friday submitted a memorandum to the Tahsildar demanding a ban on private tuitions by teachers and lecturers in government schools and colleges. Poor students suffer a lot as the teachers pressure them to join coaching classes conducted by them," said V. Arun Kumar, general secretary of the parishat.

Mr. Kumar blamed the Government for not providing basic infrastructure in government schools.

"Professional education is now beyond the reach of the common man. Nationalisation of professional colleges can make it affordable for the poor," he said.
