Prabhu N. Badiger, civil judge (Senior Division), has said that environmental protection has become a matter of great concern.

He was speaking after inaugurating a programme on creating awareness about protection of environment organised by Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Taluk Legal Services Authority, and Advocates’ Association in Shahpur city on Wednesday.

Expressing concern about lack of awareness among people in protecting the environment, Mr. Badiger said that “people are simply saying, but doing little.” Everybody should learn that protection of environment, wildlife and forest are the fundamental rights as stated in the Constitution, he added.

R.M. Honnareddy, advocate, who delivered a special lecture, said advocates should join hands with the officials and the public to create awareness about protection of environment.
