Deve Gowda's plea to Dharam Singh

BANGALORE, AUG. 1. The former Prime Minister, H.D. Deve Gowda, has urged the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, to instruct the police and revenue authorities to be impartial while dealing with matters pertaining to political parties and workers.

The former Prime Minister told presspersons here on Saturday that it was improper for the police to extend tacit support to one party at the cost of the other.

A Janata Dal (Secular) worker was killed by some Congress activists at Hoskote near here on Thursday.

Mr. Deve Gowda visited Hoskote and consoled the kin of the victim.
