Dental colleges urge Government to share fee burden

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: The Karnataka Private Dental Colleges' Association has urged the Government to bear 50 per cent of the fee burden of the colleges to allot seats with subsidised fee structure to poor and meritorious students. Addressing presspersons here on Friday, association president L.K. Raju said colleges attached to the association will subsidise fee for poor meritorious students only if the Government shared the financial burden. On Thursday, the association announced that it will allot 25 per cent of the seats in each college for students from weaker sections at a fee equal to that of government colleges. Mr. Raju said the Supreme Court judgment must not create "panic" among students and parents.
