Conference of CAs on March 6, 7

BANGALORE, MARCH 3. The Karnataka State Chartered Accountants' Association will hold its 16th State-level conference here on Saturday and Sunday with the theme "Responsibility — The New Horizon".

The association, which as over 5,000 members, will launch e-learning portal that will help students and professionals update their knowledge. A joint Management Development Programme with the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore would also be launched on the occasion.

T.R.Anjanappa, association president, said globalisation of the economy had brought new challenges to the profession. The two-day conclave would have nine technical papers on the latest developments in auditing and accounting, professional development and the regulatory environment, technology laws and indirect taxation. Three books on professional topics and CD of auditing software will be distributed free to all delegates.

Roddam Narasimha, Director, National Institute of Advanced Studies, will inaugurate the conference on Saturday. Rahul Roy, past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India will be the keynote speaker. V.S. Malimath, former Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court, will be the chief guest at the valedictory function on Sunday.
