Committed to revival of Mysugar factory: Ramya

Ramya, Mandya MP, on Saturday inaugurated a programme to pay sugarcane growers who supplied cane to Mysugar.

The State-run factory is yet to clear dues of around Rs. 3.6 crore. It purchased cane from 755 growers during the 2012-13 crushing season.

Under the programme, Ms. Ramya handed over cash to a few growers. Speaking to presspersons, she said the State government was committed to reviving the Mysugar factory.

Later, she, along with a few officials and Congress leaders, visited the Beedi Labourers slum here. She said that steps would be taken to improve living conditions in the slum.
