Sundara Murthy, former KPCC General Secretary, Girija Maheshan, Vasu, former Mayor of Mysore, Qamarul Islam, former Minister and S.S. Prakasam, former Chairman, Karnataka Meat and Poultry Development Corporation.

Expedite gauge conversion work: MP

HUBLI: Pralhad Joshi, MP for Dharwad North, has urged officials of South Western Railway to expedite the work and take steps to complete the gauge conversion between Gadag-Bijapur as per the schedule.

In a release here on Sunday, Mr. Joshi said the slow pace of work had raised doubts about the early completion of work. Although all the gauge conversion work in the region, which began in 1993, had been completed, work on the Bijapur-Gadag line had been going on for a decade, he said. - Staff Correspondent

Revision of electoral rolls from January 25

Bangalore: Chief Electoral Officer for the State Abhijit Dasgupta will be taking up from January 25 the special summary revision of electoral rolls of the Assembly constituencies with January 1, 2006 as the qualifying date. The exercise has been taken up on the orders of the Election Commission.

Those who are not less than 18 years of age as on January 1, 2006 and whose names have not been enrolled in the electoral rolls or missing from them, or have changed their place of residence, may get their names included by filing the prescribed form- "Form-6". - Special Correspondent

MYSORE: Human Resource Development panel of Confederation of Indian Industries (CCI), Mysore Zone, is organising an interactive session with Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner H. Rama Naik and senior officials of the Department of Provident Fund here on January 24.
