BJP team to meet Sindhia

Special Correspondent

SHIMOGA: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided to take a delegation to Bangalore shortly to press the Government for immediate implementation of four major development works in Shimoga.

Shimoga MLA and BJP State General Secretary K.S. Eshwarappa said the delegation will meet Finance Minister P.G.R. Sindhia and Public Works Minister H.D. Revanna either on January 16 or 17 to seek immediate implementation of the Rs. 28-crore water supply scheme, the Tunga Lift Irrigation Scheme, the construction of the Kannada and Samskruti Bhavan and the HUDCO-assisted roadwork. The Government had accorded its administrative approval for the Rs. 28-crore water supply scheme after the BJP delegation met Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh in Bangalore last year. But later it said the allocation will be made in the next Budget. The party took one more delegation to Bangalore to press for its inclusion in the current Budget.
