Baby abandoned at doctor's doorstep

HUBLI: : A baby boy was found abandoned at the doorstep of a doctor's house on Sunday night.

Shailendra, a doctor in the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), found the ailing infant wrapped in a cloth when he came out of his house on hearing a child crying. Dr. Shailendra lives in the doctors' quarters in the KIMS premises.

Sources at KIMS said the doctor examined the baby and took him to the KIMS hospital. The infant was admitted to the intensive care unit in the children's ward in the hospital. The infant is said to be out of danger and is recuperating. The Vidyanagar police have registered a case.
