Attack by terrorists condemned

Dharnas to be held in district, taluk headquarters

UDUPI: The national convener of the Bajrang Dal, Prakash Sharma, on Tuesday said the terrorist attack on the disputed Ramjanmabhoomi site is part of a systematic conspiracy to see that the idols are removed from the temple there.

Addressing presspersons here, Mr. Sharma condemned the attack and said the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal have given a call for a bandh in Uttar Pradesh. Dharnas will be held in district and taluk headquarters all over the country.

The South India convener of the Bajrang Dal, Pramod Muthalik, who was present, said the attack at the high-security site in Ayodhya raised questions on the kind of security provided to the common man in the country.

Later, Mr. Sharma and Mr. Muthalik went in a procession to the Deputy Commissioner's office here and submitted a memorandum condemning the terrorist attack.

In response to the call for a nationwide bandh by the BJP, the Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad will observe a Bidar bandh on Wednesday, condemning the attack on the Ayodhya shrine by terrorists.

Activists of the Akhil Bharathiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and the Bajrang Dal on Tuesday took out a procession condemning the terrorist attack on the disputed site at Ayodhya.

Demonstration

Shimoga Special Correspondent writes:

The local units of the BJP and the VHP have given a call for a joint demonstration here on Wednesday to protest against the militant attack.

The demonstration will start with a procession from Ramanna Shetty Park. It will be followed by a public meeting.

Volunteers of the Bajrang Dal, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Hindu Jagran Vedike on Tuesday staged a protest against the terrorist attack in Ayodhya and demanded the dismissal of the Mulayam Singh Government in Uttar Pradesh.

Shouting slogans against the Mulayam Singh Government, the protesters walked to the Deputy Commissioner's office and handed over a memorandum to lodge their protest.

The district unit of the BJP has condemned the terrorist in Ayodhya on Tuesday.

Led by the party MP Eranna Kadadi, party works marched to the office of the Deputy Commissioner and demanded intensified action against terrorists creating communal disturbances in the country.

Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Tuesday protested here against the attack on Ramjanmabhoomi in Ayodhya.

The protesters, who gathered at Gandhi Chowk here, burnt effigies of terrorists and demanded the dismissal of the Governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh.
