Association seeks hospital for Bhadravati

BHADRAVATI, MARCH 17. The D. Devaraja Urs Memorial Backward Classes and Minorities' Slum Dwellers' and Women Workers' Association has urged the State Government to sanction a 10-bed hospital for Bhadravati.

It is said that at present, polio and DPT vaccines are administered to children only on Thursdays at the family welfare centre located at the New Town branch of the City Municipal Council on NTB Road here. The area comprises slum dwellers and poor people.

Also, there is no woman doctor. As such, the association has urged the Government that a hospital be sanctioned for Bhadravati.

Until a full-fledged hospital comes into existence, the family welfare centre should be upgraded by providing more medical staff and medicines, it said.
