APD distributes 22 wheelchairs

As part of its effort for holistic rehabilitation of people with disabilities, the Association of People with Disability (APD) and Boeing India jointly distributed 22 wheelchairs to differently abled people at a function here on Saturday.

The two organisations plan to distribute more than 380 wheelchairs this year.

The campaign was inaugurated at APD’s office in Bangalore. State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities K.V. Rajanna was the chief guest. Executive Director-APD V.S. Basavaraju and Yeshoda, head of CSR, Boeing India, were present.

The event served as the initiation of a grand wheelchair distribution drive across the State.

As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, Boeing India with APD will extend support to 180 children for education and make healthcare, rehabilitation and mobility available to 400 people with disability.
