ABVP for probe into `manipulation' of marks

BELLARY, AUG. 21. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has urged the Government to constitute a committee to look into the alleged irregularities in the evaluation of answer sheets of students of the Music Department, Kannada University at Hampi, immediately.

Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, Kappagal Prabhudev, member of the national executive committee of the ABVP, reminded the Government of the assurance given to the BJP leader M.R. Tanga in this regard.

Mr. Prabhudev also charged Hanumanna Nayak Dore, head of the Music Department, of manipulating the marks obtained by a few students who had appeared for the examination during the previous academic year.

He displayed the photocopies of the answer sheets provided by the university after the ABVP launched an agitation.

Mr. Prabhudev showed the answer sheets were the marks of the invigilators were scored off and the answers had been allotted lesser marks.

He said that 10 out of 30 students had been affected.

The ABVP has demanded stern action against all those responsible for manipulating the marks and spoiling the future of the students.
