ABVP asks varsity to start B.Ed. course

RAICHUR, OCT. 7. The district unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has urged the Vice-Chancellor of Gulbarga University to initiate action for starting the B.Ed. course from the current academic year.

The ABVP also urged the Vice-Chancellor to grant permission to start additional job-oriented courses at the Postgraduate Centre in Raichur. In a statement here today, Bandesh Valkamdinni, district head of the ABVP, said that the university had recently sanctioned a B.Ed. course at the PG Centre here.

He urged the Vice-Chancellor to initiate action to inaugurate the building immediately and accord permission to the PG Centre to start the course from the current academic year.

Mr. Valkamdinni has also asked the Vice-Chancellor of the university to give preference to eligible persons from the region while appointing guest lecturers. He threatened to stage a dharna if the university failed to meet their demands.
